Particoloured Flying Squirrel
Hylopetes alboniger
Identification #
The back or dorsal surface is brown or reddish-brown, with dark grey or black limbs. The underside is white or cream, with a white throat, which extends upwards to grey below the eyes and behind the ears.
Distribution #
It occurs in India (Sikkim, north Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh), Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, southern China, northern Thailand, Vietnam, and Hainan. It is known to occur between 1500 and 2800 m.
Habitat #
This species has been reported to inhabit oak and rhododendron forests in tropical and subtropical montane forests.
